Searching for Files in Document

Document offers two ways to search for files:

  • Advanced Search allows you to create complex queries using Boolean-type operators. You can include up to 15 lines of criteria in an Advanced Search. This search can return up to 2,000 results at one time.
  • Note: Your firm can limit the number of search results that Document returns. If the number of results exceeds this number, you will be prompted to narrow your search. For information on setting the firm defaults for searches, see Setting General Configuration Options for Document.

Both search types allow you to search the full text of files if needed. They also allow you to filter search results and to save search queries for future use. When you have completed your search, you can export the search results to a CSV file.
